“The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest her or his patients in the care of the human frame, in a proper diet, and the cause and prevention of disease.”
Thomas Edison, US inventor (1847-1931)
Ayurveda is an ancient science that promotes total health for the body, mind and spirit. Ayurveda can be translated as knowledge of life. Its focus is on a lifestyle that promotes longevity. Differing from modern, allopathic medicine or even from other forms of alternative medicine, Ayurveda seeks to discover the root cause of illness. Symptoms are not directly treated. Rather, Ayurveda seeks to balance the body and thus allows the body with its natural intelligence to heal itself. This natural intelligence is known as consciousness. As the body heals as a whole, the symptoms are alleviated. Just as each human being is unique, healing modalities need to be specifically adjusted to each individual. The healing methods work in a natural, vibrational way. Moreover, the healing must be done slowly and gradually so the body can adjust without being forced or causing greater harm. Techniques include but are not limited to dietary changes, meditation, sleep, herbs and aromas. Sometimes, making these changes can seem out of reach or overwhelming. It does not have to be that way - take guidance in a holistic way and journey to your health and vibrancy. Please note: Nothing in this website is intended to disparage modern allopathic medicine and the benefits it provides. Ayurveda can be complementary to allopathic medicine. Ayurveda is most beneficial for managing chronic conditions such as irritable bowel, constipation, poor digestion, insomnia, arthritis, PMS, perimenopause, menopause, etc. Often, when an individual just is not feeling right, using Ayurveda to balance the body can prevent most diseases and the dramatic, costly methods used to treat disease. |
